Solar Thermal Types of Installations
Just like solar PV there are various mounting requirements for the Solar Thermal products. You see here some of the methods available.
Ground or Flat Roof MountingThe mounting of the panels on a flat horizontal surface requires an angle mounting bracket sitting on a square base. API uses a versatile racking system that does both of these requirements. |

Ballast Type When roof mounting sometimes counter weight is used instead of penetrating the roof skin. In this case you see a very simple approach of concrete blocks. |

Racking System Here you see the Zilla™ system that API uses in some of our installations. This one you see the roof penetration method. |
Roof MountThere are various ways of mounting to the roof of a building. The main factor is focusing the panels to the south with a proper incline angle to take advantage of the season you are designing for. Steeper angle for winter, shallow for more heat in summer months. |

Flush Mount This first mounting type is for a roof which faces close to due south. This can be done on any slope (at least 18.4 pitch) of roof but performs best on a steeply pitched roof. Placing the panel near the peak helps keep it snow free in the winter months. |

Angle Mount This type of mounting is typically done on a roof with a lower pitch where the owners do not mind having the panels stick up and away from the roof. This type of mount will result in more efficiency for the PV system. |
